Local Community Service
Local community service is a vital part of what we do. We believe that helping people serve in their home towns makes a difference. When people begin to look for needs around them, knowing they have the money and support to help, they are open and eager to take action. Not everyone wants to travel and we know there are plenty of needs in every community. We love being a part of leaving God’s fingerprints on the lives of those we serve so close to home.
Operation Christmas Child
Twenty-six: Twelve’s partnership with Samaritan’s Purse is the longest of any we have had. Operation Christmas Child shoebox collections was Twenty-six:Twelve’s first project in 2006. Since then, we have faithfully sought to promote the collection of shoeboxes and the items that fill them.
Short Term Mission Trips
Going on a short term mission trip is a great way to serve and experience the joy of giving of yourself. By stepping out of your daily routine and into a new environment, you learn about what God is doing outside your “world”. You get a new and unique perspective on what is important in life while having fun and building memories at the same time. Working hard to help others is energizing - you are sure to return home rejuvenated!
Since 2009, Twenty-six:Twelve has put together rapid-response teams to serve communities affected by natural disasters. We have a desire to come alongside those in need with basic support, kindness and prayer. We have seen the impact of serving people at their most desperate and vulnerable time of need. It’s amazing to see the response of those who are willing and able to serve with us as they give their time to take immediate action. Whether picking up debris, looking for personal belongings, cutting down trees or listening to people’s stories and praying for them, every aspect of disaster relief is important.
